Japanese company Sou Foujimoto Architects designed this unbelievable building on the request of their clients, a young couple with no children from Tokyo.

Located on a small side street in a very lively and ‘hip’ part of Tokyo, the 85 sq. m (914 sq. ft.) house has 21 individual floor plates arranged at different levels above the ground. The plumbing facilities are located in the thick wall at the rear of the building. Whenever the owners want some privacy, they simply draw the curtains to hide from the outer world.

Tashirojima - The Cat Island of Japan

The Cat Island, officially called Tashirojima, is a small island in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, that is inhabited by more cats than people. The island has become known as "Cat Island" due to the large stray cat population that thrives as a result of the local belief that feeding cats will bring wealth and good fortune. The cat population is now larger than the human population on the island.

But Tashirojima doesn’t have too many humans to begin with. There are approximately 100 residents on Cat Island, and most of them are over 70. One person is 37, and everybody else is over 60 years old. With more than 50% of the population being over 65 years of age, the survival of the island is threatened. It won’t be long before the four footed animal end up being the only living being on the Cat island.

Tokyo Sky Tree - Japan's Tallest Tower

The Tokyo Sky is a broadcasting, restaurant and observation tower in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. It has been the tallest artificial structure in Japan since 2010.The tower reached its full height of 634.0 metres (2,080 ft) in March 2011 but will not be finished until at least February 2012.

Hotel For 'The Dead People' Open In Japan

A Tokyo non-profit has opened a storage facility for corpses awaiting funerals. It's billed as a "business hotel for the dead." The LISS Center Shin-Kiba facility, which is run by funeral-arranging non-profit LISS System, can store up to 37 bodies in rooms with antibacterial lights, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported Monday. The rooms cost $ 88 per night and the center also offers assistance with arranging for morticians and setting up funerals.

"Bereaved families usually are rushed to decide on a mortician and often have problems later regarding the funeral," said Nyokai Matsushima of LISS System. "We want the families to have time to think, so they can decide on a satisfactory ceremony while their deceased relatives have a place to rest (temporarily) at our 'business hotel.'"
